You are registered as a New Member for 12 months from your joining date. If you wish to move on to become a Full Member of SBW we ask that you fulfil a few qualifying criteria in these 12 months.

To qualify for Full Membership you need to have completed the following:

Two “Qualifying” day walks
One “Qualifying” overnight walk
An informal oral test in basic navigation and basic first aid skills (all notes and training provided. If you have a current 1st Aid certificate the test is not necessary).

We strongly advise that you don't over extend yourself on your first walk. Only attempt “Qualifying” walks after a period of gaining some solid bushwalking experience.

Once the above requirements are completed, simply contact the New Members Secretary or email for a Full Membership application form. This form will be presented to the Committee for final acceptance.

Application for full membership is $55 per person or $85 per household adjusted for the time of year and if you complete the criteria in less than 12 months.

Annual membership cost thereafter is $55 per annum ($85pa for households). (Subject to change on an annual basis only).
