Guide Lines for News Items
Make them brief - one line has more impact than many
Items considered to attract new members are nearly always appropriate as are items regarding births, deaths and marriages
The News Editor has the final decision as to what is suitable and appropriate but items considered sensitive will be reviewed by the President and/or the committee of Sydney Bushwalkers Inc.
Items will remain on the website for one month unless considered by the News Editor, that it is appropriate they should remain longer
Specific dates, places and contact details should be avoided unless for a social event
The opinions expressed in a News Item are not necessarily those of the News Editor or the Sydney Bushwalkers Inc.
Items sent to the News Editor may be referred to the Magazine Editor and published in the Newsletter or Magazine at the discretion of the News Editor.
A News Item will only be published if forwarded by a current member of Sydney Bushwalkers Inc.
News Items of a personal nature will only be published if approved by that person or it is considered important to publish them at the discretion of the News Editor.
Items regarding proposed events (including social events and unusual walks) are suitable and reminders of these events may be appropriate.
The News page will be updated on the second Monday of each month but News Items considered of sufficient importance may be put on the website immediately at the discretion of the News Editor.
Please forward all News Items to
webmaster@sbw.org.au
. Items appropriate for the Bulletin or the Magazine should be forwarded to
editor@sbw.org.au
in the traditional way.
The success or otherwise of our “News” section depends on our members so please use it.
