Becoming a Full Member
You are registered as a New Member for 12 months from your joining date. If you wish to move on to become a Full Member of SBW we ask that you fulfil a few qualifying criteria in these 12 months.
Qualifying Requirements
To qualify for Full Membership, you need to have completed the following:
- Two “Qualifying” (Q) day walks
- One “Qualifying” (Q) overnight walk
- An informal oral test in basic navigation and basic first aid skills (All notes and training are provided. If you have a current 1st Aid certificate, the test is not necessary).
We strongly advise that you don't over extend yourself on your first walk. Only attempt “Qualifying” walks after a period of gaining some solid bushwalking experience.

Once the above requirements are completed, simply click this link to download the SBW Full Membership Application Form (Word Doc 52KB) and fill it in. Then send it to the New Members Secretary by:
a) Scanning it and emailing the New Members Secretary, or
b) Posting it to:

This form will be presented to the Committee for final acceptance.
Prices for Full Membership
Application for Full Membership is $46* per person or $76* per household (with the cost adjusted lower if you complete the criteria in less than 12 months, as listed on the Full Membership Application Form). This includes an additional one-off $1 processing fee for the conversion from Prospective to Full Membership, as is required by the Club's Constitution.
Annual membership cost thereafter is $45* per annum for individuals or $75* for households (subject to change on an annual basis only).
Please Note: *If you opt to receive printed communication, the cost for full membership is slightly higher. We encourage electronic communication where possible.
