Grant from the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) for Conservation
18 Jan 2012 - Great news! Our application to the SCA was successful, and they have
generously provided $4,520 to be used over the next 12 months at Coolana. This
will be used for the purpose of controlling the noxious weeds (spraying,
slashing cutting and pasting) and revegetation etc.
Here's some images of the great results that have been achieved in December 2011 by a commercial sprayer engaged to clear a large site. In January 2011, 90% of this area was covered in 1.5m high verdant weeds. Now it looks great! (click for full-sized images).

National Park Closures and Notice
Bush Fire Season
As Bush Fire season is with us, it is important to check the website of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water before venturing out into our wonderful outdoors. The website gives a comprehensive listing of up-to-date track or park closures for fire or other reasons. Oh! And don't forget to check for fire bans before heading out for overnight trips where you might want a cooking fire.
