The SBW Paddling Handbook v2.2 is the latest version uploaded to the Resources for Members page (Members Only area). This publication was first created in the Spring of 2010 by the 'Paddling Working Group' and Subject Matter Experts in the club. The handbook was trialled and feedback was also received from paddlers in the club. The changes from this are reflected in the latest edition. An annual review will be conducted to ensure the SBW Paddling Handbook remains current and useful to members.

Members, please check out the great new page with information all about SBW's property Coolana (Members Only Area) which you are welcome to book and visit with your friends at any time. The webpage includes a map with instructions on how to get there and a usage policy so that everyone understands how to care for and enjoy the place as well as how you can book. Coolana Foot Tracks & Flats Layout Maps have also just been added.
'Coolana' is derived from the Aboriginal word for 'happy meeting place of the future'. The property is available for a range of passive recreational activities including bushwalking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, orienteering, navigation training, leadership training, flora and fauna watching, abseiling, bouldering, endurance event training, 'Bush Care' work, meditation, group and private camping and just plain 'getting back to nature'.
Facilities include parking areas, a shelter hut, toilets, water supply, access track and walking tracks. The responsible lighting of camp fires is permitted.
And terrific news - the new Butler Bush Bash Orienteering Course is almost complete with a launch for it on the weekend of 12-13 March, so there is another good reason to take advantage of visiting and exploring the club's lovely property!

Latest version of the SBW Club's Constitution added to Resources for Members page in the Members Only Area. This update includes the resolution passed at the 2009 AGM regarding electronic notification (ie. using email) to send out official notices, see Rules 33 and 47.

New Resources for Members page added to Member's Area (members need to log in to view). The General section includes the new Bushwalking Risk Management document that details procedures that all leaders and participants should know about. Also added is the new SBW Paddling Handbook which contains definitions and information on skills and competencies for both leaders and participants for conducting safe paddling trips. New sub-sections have been created for documents for Prospectives and Leaders as well.
