One of The First Bush Walking Clubs in Australia, The Sydney Bush Walkers Club was formed in October 1927 and the first to accept women as members.
SBW soon established a reputation for doing tough walks. One particularly rugged and adventurous band became known as The Tigers.
They and people like like Myles Dunphy and Paddy Pallin laid the foundations for the club we have today. Women like Dot Butler (The Barefoot Walker) also established a strong tradition of adventure.
